Sandals Montego Bay features Jamaica’s longest private beach furnished with thatched shades and lounge chairs that provide all guests with ample space for quiet sunbathing and swimming in water that remains calm in most weather. Four pools provide freshwater swimming, and four whirlpool tubs supply social soaking. Sandals ” Stay at one, Play at three” program offers full exchange privileges at neighboring Sandals resorts (transfers included). Arrayed over 26 acres of flowering gardens, lily ponds, and rubber, mango, and palm trees on the North Coast near the airport’s runways, Sandals Montego Bay draws romantic couples seeking day and night group activities as well as space for being alone together. Insider tip: West of the beach is a lengthy walkway over the coral-rock oceanfront. At the end is a little-known, secluded, eight-person spa tub that offers a sunset view.

Registration at Sandals Montego Bay takes place in an air-conditioned lounge with overstuffed seating, potted plants, and wicker-paddle ceiling fans. Guests are seated and presented chilled towels and champagne. Guests in rooms and suites that include concierge services have access to private concierge registration. A kiosk in the concierge center provides all guests high-speed Internet access (surcharge).
Situated in a secluded garden with orchids and candles, a health-and-beauty spa features three couples’ rooms, one with a two-person spa tub in an alcove. The Red Lane® Spa offers hydrotherapy (including Vichy showers), massage, reflexology, body wraps and scrubs, facials, waxing, paraffin treatments, hair braiding, and hair and nail care. Optional treatments at the Red Lane®Spa are and additional cost.
A cluster of three wooden-roof open-air pavilions house a fitness center with cardio and weight machines, free weights, and a workout area for aerobics, Pilates, and yoga classes; a sauna; and a 12-person whirlpool tub and plunge pool. There are four pools in total, as well as four whirlpool tubs and a swim-up bar.
Evening entertainment is on an indoor stage under a multi-colored fabric ceiling and includes karaoke, casino games for charity, cabaret entertainers, and staff/guest talent shows. A Monday night beach party features a Jamaican buffet, fire dancers, and a steel band. A disco offers DJ music nightly and provides bar service until late night/early morning. Daytime activities include games and athletic competitions and dance lessons.

Bayside Restaurant:
French windows flung open to let in cooling sea breezes make dining indoors for breakfast, lunch an dinner a truly wonderful treat. If you’re more in the mood for a meal under the almond trees and bright blue umbrellas on the terrace overlooking the scintillating sea, just ask to be seated outdoors. While you enjoy your surroundings, don’t forget to indulge your appetite with delicious International cuisine. This restaurant is resort casual and reservations are not required. Closed Mondays for Jamaican buffet on the beach.
The Oleander Room:
Watermelon-hued walls and white-wood encased bay windows overlook the ocean spread out right below this air-conditioned restaurant, reminiscent of old colonial plantation houses. Feast on refined Jamaican dishes in a splendid setting, enhanced by our signature white-glove service. Dress code is resort evening attire and reservations are not required. Open for dinner nightly except Fridays.
Cucina Romana:
Authentic Italian favorites, prepared by a chef and sous-chef that hail directly from Italy, all served up in an upstairs setting that gives you a birds-eye view of the spot-lit Caribbean Sea – it simply cannot get any better than this. Dress code is resort casual and reservations are required. Open for a-la-carte breakfast and dinner. Closed Mondays.
Tokyo Joe’s:
Built right out over the water, which sparkles in the moonlight and under the stars, this two-tiered restaurant features dramatic red columns and balconies and a covered area under a blue pagoda roof. Tantalize your taste buds with delectable stir-fried fare, prepared with flames flying and much fanfare, right before your eyes. Dress code is resort casual and reservations are required. Open daily for dinner except on Mondays.
Corral Restaurant:
Beach grill by day and Tex-Mex restaurant by night, this culinary venue sits directly on the sand and lets you experience true barefoot dining. There is no dress code and reservations are not required. Open daily for dinner except Mondays and Fridays.
The Irie – Beach grill serving hot dogs, burgers, Jamaican beef and vegetable patties, nachos, French fries, jerk chicken and pork. Casual. Open daily.
Piano Bar – Open-air spot under cone-shaped wooden ceiling. Stone-and-concrete wall. Swim-up bar. Wood deck with oceanfront eight-person spa tub. Casual. Open daily.

Recreation Options
The majority of recreational activities and facilities are included in the room rate for Sandals Montego Bay.
The resort features 503 meters (550 yards) of private beach, consisting of a shallow, 274-meter (300-yard) section with water divided by narrow piers and a 229-meter (250-yard) section of flat sand extending 46 meters (50 yards) deep. Thatched shades and lounge chairs along the beach’s entire length ensure tranquil sunbathing and swimming for all guests even when the resort is fully occupied.
Four pools provide freshwater swimming. The main pool measures 65 by 30 feet and is paired with a 10-person whirlpool tub. Other pools comprise a 10-meter-diameter (33-foot) half-moon pool adjacent to the health-and-beauty spa; a 10-meter-diameter (33-foot) half-moon pool adjacent to Presidential beachfront one-bedroom suites; and a small, free-form pool with swim-up bar that is part of the Piano Bar. There is also a fitness center on site.
Guests have use of canoes, kayaks, pedal boats, small sailboats, scuba-diving gear, snorkeling gear, hydro-bikes, windsurfers, and water skiing. Pilates, yoga, and aerobics classes are offered in a fitness center. Land sports include table tennis, shuffleboard, basketball, billiards, bocce, outdoor chess, volleyball, and tennis on four lighted courts.
The nearest 18-hole championship golf course is at Ironshore 0.5 km (0.3 mile) away.
Resort Policies
- All Sandals, Beaches, and Royal Plantation resorts are nonsmoking in any enclosed areas. Examples are bars, restaurants, lobbies, conference facilities, retail facilities, and nightclubs.
- Smoking is permitted in all open areas and designated rooms.
- This resort accepts only adult couples ages 18 and older. No children.
- No singles or triples accepted. Singles, triples, and families are welcome at associated Beaches properties.
Extra-person charges apply. - Photo identification and credit card or cash deposit are required at check-in for incidental charges.
- Special requests are subject to availability upon check-in. Special requests cannot be guaranteed prior to check-in and may incur additional charges.
- Hotel taxes and service charges are included in the room rate.
- A no-tipping policy applies on the resort only. A gratuity of US$1 per piece of luggage is suggested for airport luggage handlers.
- The hotel has a 100 percent cancellation, no-show, and short-stay penalty. Because unforeseen circumstances arise, travel insurance is strongly recommended.
- Upon check-in, guests will be asked to tender a credit card to activate their room folio. All purchases (except those paid for with a credit card) at resort outlets will be signed to the room folio. Cash will not be accepted for incidental charges at any resort outlet.
- If a credit card is unavailable, a cash deposit must be left at the front desk/concierge in order to activate the room folio. Travelers’ checks will be treated like cash and therefore can only be used at the front desk.
